Welcome back, you wonderful geek!

There are few who walk into Sol and bring fresh purpose to its spaces.

There’s a business side to Sol, which believes in exchange of quality service and respectful compensation. But what drives this place is the promise of meaningful interaction with people whom we are not otherwise destined to know.

It did not take Mehr very long to comprehend what this place is made of. She brought a giant box of board and card games, one of which - PSI, a psychological game - is now sitting on our cafe shelf. Absolutely bursting with positive energy, her presence in the cafe is distinctly palpable.

Over time, Mehr has become indispensable to our goal of building a community around Sol, which comprises of incredibly talented - but more important - wonderfully compassionate people. She’s not afraid of breaking Pakistani cafe rules of sticking to one’s own table. Cross-table chat is common when Mehr is around, and it’s always uplifting. She has a way of tying people together, who are otherwise at risk of drifting apart at their own detriment.

Mehr is a terrific writer, and will be starting her writing workshop at iO - The Space in early April.

She has been through some bad times recently, and was unable to visit the cafe for several weeks. Like her presence, her absence is also distinctly palpable; or has been since we’ve become hopelessly accustomed to her help.

Now she’s back! God help our pies!
